Technical and Administrative scrutineering at Pordenone (Italy)
Tuesday, the 2WD team left Boz and took the road in the truck to arrive to Pordenone in Italy’s northeast region of Friuli-Venezia, where the Italian Baja will take place this weekend.
Today, the 35 cars participating at this sixth round of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup completed the technical and administrative scrutineering at the exposition park of Pordenone, which welcomes all competitors during the event.
After crossing the great dunes of Abu Dhabi, Eugenio Amos faces a new challenge on the wheels of the 2WD buggy and must quickly adapt to the dirt and stony tracks of Italy. François Borsotto, who is his navigator for the Silk Way Rally, has participated in this race four times and knows its configuration well. “This is not the ideal terrain for the buggy, there are some very narrow passages compared to the size of the car. Also, Eugenio will have to pay attention to the riverbank, because it is easy to destroy everything… but if he controls the 2WD Buggy well enough, it could be a beautiful race. Mostly, it will be a good test for the Silk Way Rally and to get to know each other better,” says Francois.
Tomorrow, Friday, competitors will attend the briefing at 9 am and then will take the start of the first Super Special of 20 km at 4:55 pm.
Saturday, the stage is composed of three loops of 109 km each. The third and last stage of the 24th edition of the Italian Baja will include two 76 km loops, and a total of 498 km over the weekend
