Administrative and technical scrutineering: Moscow (Russia)
It is that time of the year when it feels good to see your Friends again and you appreciate the hospitality of the hosts. The start of the Silk Way Rally is part of these privileges.
Like last year, the outskirts of Moscow cheer up at the rhythm of the trucks and cars that arrive from everywhere in Europe. After two days, the 2 Wheel Drive team gets ready for the 9,600 kilometers crossing Russia, Kazakhstan and part of China with the Silk Way Rally caravan, the road from Moscow to Xian.
The bivouac of the Silk Way Rally is located at the Luzhniki stadium, which is improved for its 60-year anniversary to receive the FIFA World Cup. It is in the skating building that the administrative checks take place, and outside, a tent host the technical checks where the 2WD buggy obtained its FIA stamps to race.
Ready and impatient to begin this challenge, Eugenio Amos and Sebastien Delaunay are smiling. “I dreamed of the Silk Way and the explorers. This time, I can´t wait to discover the beautiful landscape that this race has to offer,” says Eugenio.
Sebastien Delaunay comes back for the 4th time to the SWR. “I´m so happy to race with the buggy with Eugenio and the team, says the French co-driver. The 2WD Buggy is great for the terrain that we will be racing and it will offer us great possibilities compared to the best cars of this discipline that are registered to the race.”
Tomorrow, briefing and then the official start with a podium located at the Red Square at 6 pm for moment of excitement to all competitors.
Saturday, the SWR will take the start of its first stage: 727 km between Moscow and -Cheboksary.
