Today, the 2WD Buggy and its service truck finally arrived from the UAE, where Eugenio Amos and the 2WD team took part in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Since Monday, the team will work getting the 2WD buggy ready and preparing the next two races with Eugenio Amos in their calendar: The Italian Baja and the Silk Way Rally.
The Italian Baja will take place June 14-18 in Pordenone, in the Fruili-Venezia Giulia region, not far from Venice. After two days of scrutineering in the pavilions of the Pordenone Fair, competitors will race the first stage on Friday June 16. This Super Special of 20 kilometers will define the starting order of the second stage that will be carried out on Saturday, composed of three loops of 109 km each. The third and last stage of this 24th edition of the Italian Baja is two loops of 76 km. A total of 498 km for the weekend!
After coming back from Italy, the 2WD team will have about 10 days to check the 2WD buggy and head to Moscow, for the start of the Silk Way Rally 2017. The technical and administrative checks will happen in July 5 and 6, and the starting podium will take place at the mythical Red Square on July 7! Then, the greatest crossing begins: Russia, Kazakhstan and China! 14 stages and one rest day at Urumqi before crossing the finish line located at Xian, recognized by its Terra-cotta warriors.
For this two rally-races, Eugenio Amos´s navigator will be Francois Borsotto. Excellent navigator and mechanic, the French has 15 Dakar in his skin and knows the 2WD well as he has taken part on the last Africa Race with Thierry Magnaldi.
