THE SMG BUGGY FINISHES 3RD OF THE T1 CLASS FUEL 2WD!

Stage 14: Wuhai – Hohhot
Road connection: 72.60 km – Special stage: 261 km – Road connection: 420.68 – Total 754.28 km

The Silk Way Rally lives its last racing day with a finish line set 400 km away from Hohhot. The special stage of 261 km was not to take as a simple last step of the competition, even less when it took place mainly on fast tracks where driving was key and the last kilometers where in the dunes…
Eric Mozas and Rafael Tornabell managed this beautiful and difficult race amazingly and finished the stage in the 19th place and in the third place of the overall podium for their class: T1 fuel 2WD. A total victory for the team that was just born and came to the Silk Way Rally to take its first laps!

ERIC MOZAS/RAFAEL TORNABELL #135 / 19th of the special stage in 4h42’13: “This last stage was relatively difficult. We had a puncture at km 2, on the stones ejected by trucks. Then, we had to stop twice to lower our tire pressure, which made us lose some time. The 30 last km, we went a bit slower because we jumped cut dunes twice, and I was afraid to damage the front, but we still managed to finish the special stage without any issues.
This rally was a new experience, we came to the Silk Way Rally to test the buggy and the team and I am quite happy with both. The SMG 2WD buggy is an extraordinary machine, so much fun to drive and the technical team does an exceptional work.
The race was beautiful, very varied with beautiful tracks. Tomorrow, the rally will close with the podium celebration in Beijing!”
Tomorrow, the convoy of the entire rally takes the road to Beijing at 4 am, where the podium will take place.
