THE SMG 2WD BUGGT FINISHES 17TH IN A BEAUTIFUL BUT DIFFICULT SAND STAGE!

Stage 13: Alashan – Wuhai
Road connection: 30.94 km – Special stage: 367.44 km – Road connection: 326.51 km – Total: 724 km

The morning started out with a nice sunshine and about 25 Celcius degrees when competitors took the special stage Alashan – Wuhai, but it didn’t take long for temperatures to climb to 35 degres.
The special section started by a sandy track on a dried river bed, followed by yesterday’s dunes. 80 percent dunes and 20 percent off road in the dunes and the sand and vegetation were part of today’s menu.
The bivouac is installed at the dune skirts, a beautiful scenario, separated from the city.

ERIC MOZAS/RAFAEL TORNABELL #135 – 17th of the special in 6h26’00: “It was hot today, and I mean it in every possible sense! This morning, the sand was very soft and difficult, it took us 3 hours to complete 100 km… I think there are many cars that will spend the night there! It was a full day on the sand and I am quite satisfied with the SMG 2WD buggy because we lowered pressure of our tires to 1 kg at the beginning and never left the car again, it works perfectly! No getting stuck in the dunes, no punctures, like yesterday, everything was perfect!”
Tomorrow, the last special of the Silk Way Rally takes competitors to Hohot, about 500 km from Beijing, and the cars will be placed at the parc fermé to drive to the Chinese capital city in convoy for the final podium.
