Stage 2: Cheboksary – Ufa
Road connection: 197.41 km – Special stage: 157 km – Road connection: 431.22 – Total: 785.63 km

After an entire night under the rain, competitors left Cheboksary to go to Ufa, capital of the Bashkiria. This town has more than one million inhabitants and it is the third biggest after Sochi and Volgograd. Located near the Belaia river, Ufa is located about a hundred kilometers from the Ural Mountains.

The 2WD buggy #115, driven by Eugenio Amos with his co-driver Sebastien Delaunay, entered the special stage at 10:39 am for the 157 km of slim and technical track, sometimes fast and sinuous. On the gravel, the tricks and holes were numerous and if you leave the marks on the road book, you must be very careful. Navigation also had its prime time on this second special and the team had to find its direction between several tracks and changes of direction.

Eugenio Amos and Sebastien Delaunay were sharp and finished in the 10th place in 2h23’23, 32’23 from Peterhansel/Cottret (Peugeot), who scored the stage victory.
“It was the hardest special stage of my life! Says Eugenio Amos, because of the rain, the mud, the 2WD buggy wasn’t going straight, we were across the road all the time! For the very first time, I thought the rally was still long, since we were at the beginning of the special, and it was like walking on eggshells, and I made it without damaging the car… and this works great because we are 10th, and not so far from the first!”

Tomorrow, the third stage of 876 km long and a selective section of 329 from Ufa to Kostanay.
