This morning, competitors took the start of the fifth and final stage of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Once in the track, no wind, not extreme hot weather, but excellent weather conditions to enjoy a beautiful special stage. For Eugenio Amos and Rafael Tornabell, an excellent opportunity to beat the stopwatch and take the 2WD to the 4th place!
Eugenio Amos/Rafael Tornabell #244 – 6th in 4h04’25: “Besides getting a bit stuck in the sand before CP1, says Eugenio Amos, I am proud of my driving in the dunes. It is not a problem to race fast with the 2WD, but it is not so easy to keep accelerating when you don´t know what is there. This morning I thought I had nothing to lose so I drove full gas without being tired or sweating! I really like the 2WD buggy! When I think this is the second time I race in the dunes of Abu Dhabi and that last year I was driving an SSV… I am satisfied with our performance and even more to be able to race against top drivers. My greatest victory in this rally race was to face the fear and keep accelerating.”
